Mines Casualties in Cambodia Rose up

Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority said mine and ERW casualty in 2010 rose up 42 cases if compare to last year.

In 2010 there were 286 case have been identified while in 2009 there were only 244 cases.  The most mine and ERW danger province was the northwestern provinces of Cambodia, such as Battambang where there were 73 cases, Banteay Meanchey was 41 cases and Pailin was 31 cases. The free mine and ERW was Phnom Penh, Sihanouk, Kep and Mondukiri, it said.

Most of the victim are 60 percent were man, women 10 percent, boy 24 percent and girl 6 percent.

In 2008 there were 271 cases and in 2007 there were 352 cases.
