332 Forest Communities Has Been Register and Prepare to Apply Carbon Credit

Up to 2010, in Cambodia there were 332 forest communities are approved to register officially at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery and some more communities are applying, Mr. Meas Makara, Director of Forest Preservation and Community Forest, Forest Administration told Rasmei Kampuchea today.

Based on these communities, Cambodia totally have around 230,000 ha to apply the carbon credit from the carbon market, he said.

Carbon credit is an initiative idea for Cambodian to apply the carbon credit to support the forest preservation project and sustainable used.
