A 4 years old girl in Banteay Meanchey province, northwestern of Cambodia died by H5N1, a joint press release of world health organization and ministry of health said.
She died on 20th July after fall sick ten day before. She was treat in the local clinic and send to emergency in Siem Reap Javavarman VII Hospital on July 18. Her blood sample send to Pasteur Institute and confirm the H5N1.
She stay in Chork Reakmsey Village, Rohath Teuk commune, Monkulborei district, Banteay Meanchey.
The girl is the 17th person in Cambodia to become infected with H5N1 and 15th victim died. For this year she is the seven victims. All patient with H5N1 infected this year died. Six of the seven cases were children. Eleven of the seventeenth confirmed case are females.
