Cambodian Cabinet Minister Approves USD 2.6 Billion for 2012

Cambodian Cabinet Ministers Meeting under Chairmanship by Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen this morning approved the draft law of financial management for 2012 worth up to 10,767,982 million riels, or USD 2.6 billion, according to Press and Quick Reaction Unit’s press release. According to the press release, this budget approved by the cabinet ministers will make the government to maintain the sustainable economic growth around 7%, reduce the poverty rate more than 1% annually, improving social welfare, education, health sector, rehabilitating the damaged infrastructure by flood, promoting rice exports etc.

The government will also continue to apply the increasing the civil servants and armed forces‘ salary policy around 20%, the press release said.
